You may be tempted to take a traditional CNC milling machine and add a high speed spindle, get some CAD programs that process large amounts of data and start cutting. It ismost likely to fail, and rather disappointing in the end.

One company, Delcam, has developed numerous processes for HSM. Raceline machining allows faster cutting, lowers cutter wear and diminishes machine tool stress. Trochoidial machining adjusts the toolpath so machining is safe and efficient. Other processes are Automatic Trochoidial Machining, Rest Roughing, High Speed Machining, and Constant Z.
Mastercam has an extensive line of programs that include high speed machining and router bit cutting. For routers, they offer Router, Router Plus, Router Pro and MultiAxis programs. These take the process to the next level, as you need it.
